The largest gym in Zanzibar is the schoolyard. The Schools Shield is how the Federation meets children who will never walk into Amani on their own.

The Shield

Secondary schools on Unguja and Pemba play a short-season shield: pools in each region, then an island final, then a Zanzibar final if both island winners can travel without missing a week of class. If they cannot, the two island champions are both recognised. A trophy is not worth a lost term.

Under-16 and under-19, boys and girls
Teacher-coaches are offered ZBF C at no fee if their school enters the Shield
Equipment library: balls, bibs, a lining kit, loaned not donated-and-forgotten
Games in daylight or under lights. No school game finishes by phone torch.
A hospitality note: water and fruit. Do not assume a sponsor’s drink, and do not put alcohol anywhere near a school event.
Winners visit a Kids Innovation session and run a station. Status is taught as service.
